TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Department of Transportation officials say they’re moving forward with a plan for more comprehensive repairs to a stretch of I-359 near Tuscaloosa.

Chief engineer for the department’s fifth division L. Dee Rowe tells the Tuscaloosa News (https://bit.ly/1nknVlB ) officials did some patchwork repairs to the highway after a rough winter and are expecting to resurface it later this year.

Rowe says the department has worked with the University of Alabama to minimize the road project’s impact on football game traffic.

Department officials say maintenance projects are also planned for I-20/59.
