DIX HILLS, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island are investigating the drowning death of a 55-year-old woman who was found dead at the bottom of a backyard pool following a party.
Suffolk County police say residents of a home on Polo Street in Dix Hills were cleaning up Sunday afternoon when they noticed a body in the deep end of a pool.
The residents called 911 and the victim, identified as Rajkumari Motwani, of Rego Park, was pulled out of the pool. Police say Motwani - who was a guest at the Saturday night party - was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there does not appear to be any criminality in the death.
