OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office says the death of a man who was found Monday at a rural residence just outside of Ottumwa will be ruled a homicide.

The director of forensic operations at the coroner’s office in Ankeny says the cause of death is going to be certified as a gunshot wound of the neck/chest.

John Kraemer tells the Ottumwa Courier (https://bit.ly/1kb7a21 ) that based on the “circumstances and investigations,” the death will be considered a homicide.



The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said Wapello County Sheriff’s Office deputies found 49-year-old Clinton Gus Leedom unresponsive from a gunshot wound early Monday morning.
