A woman was stuck and killed by a bus while she crossed the street Thursday morning in Upper Marlboro.

The crash occurred at 10:35 a.m. near Main Street and Water Street in downtown Upper Marlboro, an intersection near the Prince George’s County Courthouse.

The woman, who police have not identified, was crossing Main Street and was in a crosswalk at the time she was struck. Officers had to remove her from underneath the bus and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police were investigating the crash to determine whether the bus driver was at fault. Officials said the driver remained on the scene.
