MOUNT HOLLY, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state police say an 84-year-old Reading man died in a one-car collision shortly after midnight.

Police say John Stahura was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Route 103 in Mount Holly, south of the Shunpike Road intersection.

Mount Holly and Ludlow fire rescue workers extricated his wife, Nancy Stahura, from the vehicle. Police say she was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center, where she was being treated for what they described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Authorities say the weather was clear and the roads were dry when the crash occurred.
