PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Washington won the varsity eight grand final Sunday and took the men’s heavyweight national championship in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association regatta.
The Huskies finished in 5 minutes, 37.113 seconds. Brown was second in 5:39.626.
Cornell won the men’s lightweight national title and Harvard-Radcliffe took the women’s lightweight championship in the 112th regatta at Mercer Lake. Cornell finished in 5:47.921, Radcliffe had a time of 6:41.592.
Washington was the overall points champion for the eighth consecutive year, also winning the men’s varsity four and men’s freshmen eight races en route to a four-point victory over California.
