DETROIT (AP) - Olympic ice dance gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White will be the grand marshals of Detroit’s Thanksgiving parade.

The announcement was made Monday by the Parade Co., which puts on the annual event downtown.

Davis and White are Michigan natives and the most successful duo in U.S. history in the sport. They’ll serve as co-grand marshals of the 88th America’s Thanksgiving Parade.

White says in a statement he’s “humbled to be a part of one of the best Thanksgiving parades in the country.”

Past grand marshals include former Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland and Congressman John Dingell.

This year’s parade will be held Nov. 27.
