Investigators determined a deadly apartment fire that broke out in Northeast D.C. this month was intentionally set by the man killed in the blaze and have ruled the death a suicide.
Christopher Christofi, 46, died June 4 in the fire that caused an explosion in his home in the 1600 block of Isherwood Street in the Kingman Park neighborhood.
The Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner had ruled the death a suicide. No further information was available about the factors that led the death to be classified as such.
