WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A 41-year-old man is being held on suspicion of capital murder in the shooting deaths of his girlfriend, her daughter and her son-in-law at the family’s home, Wichita police said.

Police Lt. Todd Ojile on Tuesday identified the victims as Tuyet T. Huynh, 45, her daughter Trinh Pham, 20, and Pham’s husband, 21-year-old Sean Pham. Ojile said the Phams’ 5-month-old son was found unharmed in the basement where Trinh Pham was killed.

The three victims were found shot to death early Tuesday. Authorities said Trinh Pham called police to report the shootings before she was killed. Each victim had been shot several times. Sean Pham also suffered blunt force trauma injuries.

Another child who lives at the home was out of town at the time, Ojile said. Police said there hadn’t been any previous domestic violence cases at the residence.

The suspect was taken into custody at the home without incident after police forced their way into the home, Ojile said. The suspect, who is being held on capital murder charges, hasn’t been identified.

Police spokesman Lt. Dan East said investigators had not yet determined a motive for the shootings.

He said the deaths push Wichita’s homicide total for 2014 to 14. In 2013, there were 17.
