LAKE VILLA, Ill. (AP) - Lake County officials say an elderly woman found dead in a north suburban Chicago water tank died from a heart attack.
The News Sun reports Tuesday (https://bit.ly/1jOo3sa) that the Lake County coroner says Adeline Helwig suffered a heart attack, possibly while trying to climb out of the water tank. Coroner Thomas Rudd says Helwig had no injuries and there were no signs of foul play.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office says Helwig apparently climbed into her home’s cistern pump house. Deputies called to the home on May 27 for a well-being check found her face down in about 4 feet of water.
A neighbor told police Helwig was last seen May 23.
The cistern provides well water for the unincorporated area.
