MULLINS, S.C. (AP) - A company that designs, produces and packages ready-to-serve foods is expanding its Marion County operations.
Officials with the state Commerce Department said the $3.4 million investment by SoPakCo is expected to bring more than 120 fulltime jobs to the company’s facilities.
SoPakCo says it wants to start making and packaging a line of frozen food for distribution to retailers throughout North America.
The Marion County expansion brings SoPakCo’s total employees in Mullins and Bennettsville to more than 600 people.
Hiring for the new positions begins immediately, and officials say the new line will start production later this year.
