NEW YORK (AP) - Prosecutors say a New York City high school teacher charged with raping a student at various locations at the school is now being accused of sexually abusing a second 16-year-old victim.

Physical education teacher Joy Morsi was re-arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned Tuesday on similar charges.

Prosecutors say 39-year-old Morsi’s affairs with the students at Grover Cleveland High School began in June 2013. New York’s age of consent is 17.

The Massapequa, Long Island woman faces of up to eight years in prison if convicted in both cases.

Morsi’s lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The city Department of Education says Morsi has been removed from the classroom.
