NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Police say skeletal remains found in Newark have been identified as those of a man reported missing about a year and a half ago.
The remains were found Friday afternoon by a hiker in a heavily wooded area.
Police say they identified the remains through dental records as those of John Dohms, who was reported missing on September 13, 2012.
Dohms suffered from dementia, and a search for him in the woodlands surrounding White Clay Creek State Park was unsuccessful.
Police say his death is under investigation, and the cause and manner of death are unknown.
