CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Miami offensive lineman Hunter Knighton is out of the hospital after falling ill during a workout last month.

The circumstances behind Knighton’s health issue remain unclear, with school officials saying only that the player’s family has asked for privacy. Knighton was hospitalized a few days before spring practice began on March 1.

Knighton released a statement on Monday thanking everyone who had been praying for him over the last few weeks. He also thanked the “best family, coaches, doctors and support group for getting me this far.”

Knighton, a native of Pottstown, Pa., signed with Miami in February 2013. He redshirted last season for the Hurricanes, who went 9-4.
