ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police are looking for a man suspected in a shooting near downtown that left two people dead and one person severely injured.

The victims - two men and one woman - were shot about 6 p.m. Monday in a tent in a wooded area beyond a parking lot east of Karluk Street and Fifth Avenue. The area has been described as a homeless camp.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said Tuesday the dead have been identified as 47-year-old Mae Melovidov and 55-year-old Robert Workman. Melovidov was originally from Saint Paul Island, Alaska, while Workman was originally from Shageluk. Police think they had been living in Anchorage for some time.

Workman died at the scene and the woman died after being transported to a local hospital.

Castro says the critically injured man is being treated at a hospital and police have spoken with him.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a black jacket with red stripes on the back.
