COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities in Colorado Springs are investigating two homicides that occurred last weekend.
The shooting deaths happened Saturday less than three miles from each other and about 22 hours apart. Police do not think they’re connected.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1cUROW0 ) one man has been taken into custody in connection with one of the shootings.
The El Paso County Coroner identified the two victims as 26-year-old Christopher Jackson and 51-year-old Leroy Leonard Chavez. Both died of gunshot wounds.
The shooting involving Jackson also resulted in a 15-year-old girl being wounded. But police say she has recovered.
A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with Jackson’s death.
Police say two other men were left in critical condition in the shooting involving Chavez. They have no suspects in custody.
