CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - Coastal Carolina administrator and broadcaster Matt Hogue is the school’s interim athletic director.

University president David A. DeCenzo announced Hogue’s appointment Tuesday. Former AD Hunter Yurachek left to become chief operation officer for Houston’s athletic department.

DeCenzo also added to the duties of football coach Joe Moglia, who was named chair of the athletics division. DeCenzo said Moglia will work with Hogue on a comprehensive review of the school’s athletic programs.

Hogue has been the “Voice of Chanticleers” on athletic radio broadcasts since 1997. He also heads Coastal Carolina’s marketing and trademark-licensing efforts.

DeCenzo says he’s put off a search for new AD while Hogue and Moglia work to achieve a new alignment between athletics and the university. DeCenzo believes it’s the perfect time for such a review.
