CROWNSVILLE, Md. (AP) - Police are investigating the slaying of a cab driver in Crownsville.

Anne Arundel County police say the body of 41-year-old Benjamin Kirby was found early Tuesday morning in a driveway near his taxi minivan.

Officers went to the scene after a passerby reported that the vehicle was unoccupied and looked suspicious.

Police found blood inside the vehicle and other evidence of a struggle. The meter was still running. Kirby’s body was found after a brief search. Police say he suffered trauma to the upper body. He was an Annapolis resident.

Police don’t have any suspects and are trying to determine whether the slaying was random or Kirby was targeted.
