LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) - A Carson’s store in Livonia is taking part in a program that gives discounts to customers who donate items to Goodwill.

The 2014 Goodwill Sale kicks off Thursday and runs through March 29.

For each item donated, customers will receive a coupon good for up to 25 percent off regular and sale items. The coupon can be used at any Carson’s store.

Donations are sold at local Goodwill stores. The revenue from the Goodwill sales funds training programs and services that help people find jobs and care for their families.

To kick off the Goodwill Sale, the Livonia Carson’s location will host a “Stuff the Truck” event on Thursday. A local radio station is supporting the cause by having a DJ visit the store that day.
