TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - Jimmy Creed is the new managing editor of The Daily Home newspaper in Talladega.

The Daily Home (https://bit.ly/PsMLaA ) reports Creed’s appointment was announced this week.

Creed has worked as a communications specialist for URS-Westinghouse Anniston for the past seven years. That’s the company that destroyed chemical weapons at the Anniston Army Depot.

Before that, Creed was sports editor and assistant sports editor at the Anniston Star and then managing editor at The Jacksonville News and The Piedmont Journal.

All the papers are owned by Consolidated Publishing Co.

Creed began as a sports freelance reporter at The Daily Home in 1983 while still in high school. In Alabama, Creed has also worked at The Gadsden Times and The Tuscaloosa News.
