GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A Campbell County jury has found a Gillette man guilty of five counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/1oNB9sR) the verdict came Tuesday after a two-day trial.

Prosecutors charged the man with abusing his girlfriend’s daughter in 2012, when she was 13 and he was in his early 30s. The man faces up to 50 years in prison on each count when sentenced later.

A paternity test showed the man fathered a child with the victim.

The girl’s mother testified she knew her boyfriend was abusing her daughter. The mother is serving a prison term after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual abuse.

The newspaper didn’t identify the man or the mother because releasing their names could identify the victim.
