JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - Jurors in Will County have found a Plainfield woman guilty of first-degree murder for shooting a man to death in 2007.

The Will County State’s Attorney’s office says 25-year-old Gabriela Escutia was convicted on Wednesday in the death of Javier Barrios. Another man, Ricardo Gutierrez, has been sentenced to 68 years in prison in the case. Officials say Escutia shot Barrios in the side before he fled and was chased by Gutierrez, who shot Barrios twice in the head.

Prosecutors say Escutia faces between 45 years to life in prison. She is to be sentenced June 20.
