SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The police force of South Dakota’s largest city is planning to expand.

The Sioux Falls Police Department is hiring 14 officers.

Applications for the openings are due Tuesday. The new officers will start their job July 7.

The Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1idMCl9 ) reports the new hires will offset the number of officers scheduled to retire in 2014 and 2015.

Applications can be submitted through the city’s website. The site also explains physical and educational requirements.
