SELMA, Ala. (AP) - Selma police say a man who stole a truck and led them on a high-speed chase has been arrested.

Lt. Curtis Muhannad tells WAKA-TV (https://bit.ly/1nOYwDP ) that 44-year-old Jimmy Brown was coaxed out of his house Wednesday after stealing a pickup truck and fleeing police. Authorities say the street was blocked off and a police dog was about to be brought in when Brown surrendered after about 40 minutes.

Muhannad says the man came to the front door after an officer gave two warnings. Police say Brown is charged with theft, attempting to elude police, assault and criminal mischief. Muhannad says Brown was on federal probation and additional charges may be filed.

It’s unclear if Brown has an attorney.
