DALTON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a woman suspected in the death of a northwest Georgia convenience store clerk has been taken into custody and charged with murder.

U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Gavin Duffy says the 21-year-old woman was arrested at a Bartow County residence Tuesday.

Whitfield County sheriff’s Capt. Rick Swiney said Skyy Raven Marie Mims tried to flee when officers converged on the residence but was quickly apprehended.

Jail records show that Mims, whose last known address is Detroit, was jailed on a murder charge. Jail records do not indicate whether she has an attorney.

Whitfield County sheriff’s deputies responded to a service station in Dalton Sunday night and found 37-year-old Dahyabhai Chaudhari dead on the floor.

The Daily Citizen reports that she’s scheduled to appear before a judge at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
