MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Ben Weisbeck’s jumper with 30 seconds left in the game broke a tie and led Bismarck St. Mary’s to a 56-53 win over Wahpeton in a North Dakota Class A boys basketball quarterfinal Thursday.
The Huskies (17-6) had a chance to tie the game on the next possession, but Carson Zarak missed a pair of free throws with three seconds remaining. Zarak was 9-for-13 from the free throw line and finished with a team-high 14 points.
Weisbeck ended his night with 10 points and Darius Sparks led the Saints (19-4) with 18 points, shooting 50 percent from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Ross Kopp added 11 points.
