DELL RAPIDS, S.D. (AP) - A standoff near Dell Rapids involving law officers and a man wanted on felony larceny and drug warrants ended peacefully when the suspect surrendered after four hours.
Authorities say 20-year-old Tahlen Bourassa holed up in a business near the eastern South Dakota city Wednesday evening after a high-speed chase. Officers surrounded the building and also monitored the situation from a helicopter and a SWAT team’s armored vehicle.
Police say Bourassa surrendered without incident about 9 p.m. and was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
