MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Robin van Persie has rubbished talk that he is unhappy at Manchester United, saying he wants to extend his contract at the English champions.

The Netherlands striker says “the truth is I’m very happy here at this club. I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay even longer, beyond the next two years I have left on my contract.”

Speaking to United Review, the club’s official program, Van Persie addressed speculation that he had fallen out with manager David Moyes during their disappointing defense of the Premier League title.

Van Persie, who joined United from Arsenal in 2012, says “that’s not true at all … I really enjoy working under him and I’m absolutely convinced things will pick up and we’ll turn it around.”
