RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Trey Porter scored 18 points and Potomac beat Henrico 54-42 on Friday in the Virginia High School League’s 5A boys championship.

Randy Haynes and Xavier Laws each added 11 points for Potomac (28-1), which held Henrico to its lowest point total this season.

De’Monte Buckingham scored 18 points for Henrico (22-7), and Matthew Wallace added 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Potomac took a 14-2 lead early and Henrico closed to within a basket, but never caught up. Henrico shot only 24 percent (13-54) and made only five field goals in the second half.

Porter, a 6-foot-9 center bound for George Mason, recorded six blocks.
