RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Damen Daniel’s banked-in fadeaway with 42 seconds remaining capped Colonial Forge’s comeback as the school captured its first boys basketball state championship with a 58-54 victory over Landstown in the Virginia High School League’s 6A championship Saturday night at the Siegel Center.

Landstown (23-6) led 50-45 midway through the fourth quarter when Winston Burgess’ tip-in sparked a 6-0 run that gave Colonial Forge (27-1) just its second lead of the game. The teams traded baskets for several possessions before Daniel put Colonial Forge ahead for good at 55-54.

Burgess led Colonial Forge with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Carion Eaton adding 12 points.

Darius Bolstad led Landstown with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks and Pringle added 18 points.
