DALLAS (AP) - Authorities have taken a man into custody who was the focus of a statewide Amber Alert after he allegedly shot his estranged wife in Central Texas and took the couple’s 2-year-old boy.

A vehicle driven by Vincent Corson Jr. was stopped on Interstate 30 in the Dallas area Friday afternoon. Authorities say the boy, Isaiah Corson, was found unharmed.

Temple police said earlier that the 29-year-old Corson was wanted after shooting his wife Friday morning at a Temple apartment complex.

The unidentified woman was being treated at a Temple hospital. Authorities say she had been granted a protective order against Corson.

Authorities had previously said Corson was considered armed and dangerous, and that the child was believed to be in “grave or immediate danger.”
