BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls Roosevelt got off to a fast start and went on to beat Rapid City Stevens 74-63 Friday in the consolation round game at the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament.

The Rough Riders (14-11) scored 30 points in the first quarter to take an 11-point lead. They nursed the lead throughout the game thanks to a 31-point effort by Paige Mriden.

Mriden was 8-for-14 from the floor with five 3-pointers and made 10 of 12 free throws. Tagyn Larson had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Nicole Hatcher had 14 points and 11 boards.

Jennie Scharn had 21 points for the Raiders (14-11), who were 10-for-22 on 3-point shots. Virginia Vifquain and Taylor Molstad had 12 points each for Stevens.
