HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Ethan Herbert had 18 points and 11 rebounds as Concord built and early lead and never let up on its way to the school’s first state title with a 57-40 win over Wonderview in the boys Class 1A championship game.

The Pirates (40-2) lost in the championship game last year, but they led 31-20 at halftime against the Daredevils (30-9) and never faltered in the second half.

Herbert, one of four players to finish in double figures for Concord, was 4 of 7 from the field and 10-of-13 shooting on free throws. Hanse Bowman added 15 points, while TJ Richardson finished with 11 and Jacob Roark 10.

MJ Griffin led Wonderview, which won the state championship in 2010, with 13 points and nine rebounds.
