SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A long-time health system administrator will take over the top job at University Health - the former LSU public hospitals - May 1.

University Health’s management board named Rodney N. Huebbers CEO on Wednesday. The Times reports (https://bit.ly/1m3qld1 ) Huebbers will oversee operations at the Shreveport hospital, E.A. Conway in Monroe and affiliated outpatient clinics. The board also named Larry Donner hospital administrator at E.A. Conway.

Huebbers is president and CEO of Vanguard Health System’s Detroit Medical Center, which includes nine hospitals and 75 outpatient clinics. The medical center is a training ground for doctors from Wayne State School of Medicine, and Huebbers has worked with a faculty practice plan that covers 400 health care providers.
