PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say they’ve recovered the body of a missing scuba diver in Lake Pleasant near Phoenix.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s officials say the body was located Friday afternoon in about 248 feet of water near the Old Waddell Dam.

Searchers used a remotely operated underwater vehicle equipped with sonar and cameras to find the body.

They say four people were diving off their pontoon boat near the old dam Thursday afternoon and one diver didn’t return to the surface.

Authorities say 63-year-old Nathan Allan Sheffel was last seen about 2:45 p.m. Thursday and reportedly had about 140 minutes of oxygen left.

Sheriff’s officials say it’s still unknown if Sheffel had equipment failure or a medical issue.

Lake Pleasant is located about 35 miles northwest of Phoenix.
