BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls O’Gorman blew open a close game in the third quarter and beat Sturgis 63-47 in the third-place game of the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament on Saturday.

O’Gorman outscored Sturgis 23-9 in the third quarter and maintained a comfortable lead the rest of the way. The Knights (18-8) led 27-22 at the break.

Claire Howes and Jessica Mieras had 14 points apiece for the Knights, who shot 54 percent while holding Sturgis to 30 percent. Mieras had 10 rebounds, helping O’Gorman to a 35-22 advantage.

Dalee Stene had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Kahlie Peterson had 23 points and Lynsey Prosser 17 for Sturgis (18-7).
