RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Union First Market Bank plans to lay off 80 workers at its operations center in Christiansburg on May 9.

The center will be consolidated into a facility in Ruther Glen.

Union First filed a notice of the layoffs as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

Union First spokesman Bill Cimino tells the Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1onYHGk ) that workers in Christiansburg have been given an opportunity to relocate to Ruther Glen and accept relocation assistance.

Cimino says the bank is adding 59 positions in central Virginia.

The Christiansburg center formerly was part of StellarOne. Union First completed its acquisition of StellarOne on Jan. 1.
