PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say the body of a woman was found in a river near the center of Philadelphia.

A police spokeswoman said a construction worker spotted the victim’s body shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Schuylkill River near South Street.

The body has been taken to the city medical examiner’s office, which will determine a cause of death.

Police said the victim’s name was not immediately available.
