SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) - A dirt bike rider who went missing in a Los Angeles County canyon has returned home.

Sheriff’s officials say Antonio Marquez’s family called authorities Wednesday morning to say the 54-year-old was safe and sound.

Marquez said he crashed his bike and decided to spend the night in San Francisquito Canyon near Santa Clarita. It’s unclear whether he rode or hiked out.

His family reported him missing about 10:30 Tuesday night.

Officials say Marquez will undergo a medical check but is reportedly in good health.
