FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The city of Fargo will host the 2014 North Dakota travel industry conference.

The tourism division of the state’s Department of Commerce says the event will take place April 14 through 16.

The event will include sessions on how to market rural tourism in a growing North Dakota, where the number of residents has reached an all-time high.

The state’s population has grown in recent years particularly in the northwest region because of an oil boom, and officials are hoping to attract thousands of more people to the area.
