CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) - A 28-year-old carjacking suspect accused of leading authorities in Colorado on a 75-mile rush-hour chase from Longmont to Lone Tree is facing 26 charges.

The Denver Post reports (https://tinyurl.com/o6pw5r5 ) Ryan Stone was charged Wednesday with attempted murder, kidnapping and numerous other counts.

Stone is accused of stealing a vehicle with a 4-year-old boy in the backseat on March 12 and then carjacking two other vehicles while a news helicopter tracked him. The boy was not hurt, but authorities say Stone hit and seriously injured a state trooper deploying stop sticks. Stone was arrested when he tried to run and slipped on ice.

Stone is due back in court on May 29. He’s being held on a $3.5 million bond.
