CAMERON, N.C. (AP) - Some Moore County teachers say student use of laptops is resulting in better attendance, fewer discipline problems and more learning opportunities.
The Fayetteville Observer reported (https://bit.ly/1eRSbkP) about 3,400 more students will get laptops by next week. Some got laptops Monday, while other students will receive theirs by March 26.
The deliveries will complete the second phase of the digital effort, under which every student in the school system will have a laptop by the 2015-16 school year.
Superintendent Aaron Spence said schools already are seeing benefits from the first phase of the effort, which started in the 2012-13 school year. Union Pines teacher Bill Moore says he’s been a teacher for 27 years and this is his best year ever because of the laptops.
