LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says recent testing has found no chronic wasting disease in Arkansas’ deer herd.

The commission said Wednesday that it submitted samples during the 2013 sampling period for testing and the deadly disease was not found. Chronic wasting is a neurological disease with no known cure and pathologists say it is always fatal in deer and elk.

The deer tested were from animals taken by hunters; from inside captive enclosures; sick or emaciated; and from deer-vehicle collisions. The deer came from all parts of Arkansas.
