MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AP) - The Southern Arkansas women’s basketball team has defeated Henderson State 62-54.

Saturday’s game was a battle of wills as both teams fought valiantly back-and-forth to end their regular season with a win. Play was so close that there were 13 tie scores and 10 lead changes in total.

Six of the lead changes came in the first half and the last two were in the final minute of the opening period when the Lady Muleriders and the Lady Reddies traded three-pointers. SAU would benefit from nailing the last three-pointer as it gave them a two-point halftime lead, 35-33.

The Lady Muleriders now enter the Great American Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla. Their opening-round opponent will be on Friday against the East Central University Lady Tigers of Ada, Okla.
