BUENA PARK, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a big rig driver was killed after crashing his truck into a stalled semi-trailer on an Orange County freeway.

California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada says the 58-year-old man died early Thursday morning at a hospital.

One lane of the 91 Freeway in Buena Park remains closed, backing up early morning commuter traffic. Quesada says all lanes are expected to be reopened by 8 a.m.

The crash was reported shortly before midnight. The CHP says the big rig smashed into a FedEx truck stalled in the middle lanes.

It took paramedics nearly 10 minutes to extract the victim from his cab. The FedEx driver escaped serious injury.

The CHP says two other vehicles were caught in the wreckage. One of the occupants was hospitalized with minor injuries.
