FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Police say two people drove themselves to the hospital following a road rage incident in Fort Myers.

The victims told police they were driving in Lehigh Acres on Wednesday afternoon when they got into an altercation with the occupants of another vehicle.

According to police, the people in a Malibu followed the victims into Fort Myers. The victims pulled over in an attempt to escape the other car.

The News Press of Fort Myers (https://newspr.es/1eoOpT7 ) reports the Malibu pulled up to the victims’ car and more words were exchanged. Then someone in the Malibu fired several shots into the car, striking both victims. The Malibu drove away and the victims drove to Lehigh Acres Regional Medical Center.

Neither victim suffered life threatening injuries.
