FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Minot Ryan earned a chance to defend its state title and extended its win streak to 56 games with a 54-34 win over Central Cass in the North Dakota Class B girls basketball semifinal on Friday.

If the Lions (27-0) win one more game, they will tie the state record for most consecutive games won.

Hannah Stewart and Gabbie Bohl had double-doubles for the Lions and Maddie Wald had 10 points. Wald’s back-to-back 3-pointers in the first quarter started a 22-1 run for the Lions that resulted in a 36-11 lead at half.

Stewart had a team-high 15 points and 11 rebounds. Bohl collected a game-high 16 rebounds and added 14 points.

The Squirrels (23-4) were led by Faith Dooley with 11 points and four rebounds. Kirby Camas and Dallas Goettle each added six points.
