BALD KNOB, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas police officer responding to an alleged stabbing inside a convenience store shot the suspect.
At around 10 a.m. Monday, a man and woman entered a convenience store at 119 U.S. Highway 167 in Bald Knob, where the woman allegedly stabbed the man.
State police say a local officer arrived on the scene and confronted the woman, who was still armed, and ordered her to drop the weapon. The woman allegedly advanced toward the officer, who then shot her.
Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The state police have been asked to investigate both incidents, and will turn their findings over to the prosecuting attorney.
The individuals involved in the incident have not been identified.
