HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Helena native and former Eastern Oregon softball coach Aaron Jackson is the first softball coach at Carroll College.

Athletic director Bruce Parker said Tuesday that Jackson has a great love of the game, numerous recruiting contacts and a passion for Helena and Carroll.

Jackson’s teams compiled a 36-83 record in three seasons at Eastern Oregon, steadily improving and posting 14 wins over Top 25 teams during his last two seasons.

Jackson is tasked with developing a schedule and getting a team on the field by the fall. He says he’ll recruit successful students who are good people and respectful of their teammates, parents and coaches. He also will talk with current Carroll students who are interested in playing.
