GONZALES, La. (AP) - Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies say a fistfight broke out between two girls, who have been in a conflict over a social media website, when they bumped into each other in a hallway at Central Middle School.

By the end of the fight, Chief Deputy Tony Bacala tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/OV0RQZ) six girls, friends of the two girls, joined the fight, and two teachers received minor injuries when they tried to break it up.

Bacala says the two girls who began fighting were booked Monday into the Assumption Parish Youth Detention Center each on counts of disturbing the peace, simple battery and simple battery of a teacher. The other four girls were arrested and released to their parents.

Deputies did not release names of those arrested because of their ages.
